The Holy Rocka Rollaz

Friday, February 4 at 7 pm

Take an authentic trip back to the ‘50s with Minnesota’s Own Holy Rocka Rollaz, performing live on the State Street Theater stage Friday, February 4 at 7 pm! If you love the rock ‘n’ roll music of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Brenda Lee, Patsy Cline, Eddie Cochran, Bill Haley & The Comets, then you have found your dream band! They are bringing nothing but pure early American rock ‘n roll. This high-energy Minneapolis trio has been bringing their exciting show to thousands of car show fans, prestigious venues and family friendly city events for several years. Their reputation as a high-quality show continues to grow.

Using vintage instruments and having spent years studying the styles of all the early rock ‘n’ rollers, this band knows how to deliver the spirit and sound of those pioneers. Lead singer/guitarist Mark Flora plays a hollow body Gretsch through tube amps, bassist/singer Lisa Lynn slaps a mean upright bass and drummer/singer Matt Alexander pounds an old Gretsch drum kit. The band feels no need to update or modernize the classic sound of early American rock ‘n’ roll. “It’s perfect just the way it is. And people are really reacting to it! The looks we see on people’s faces when we really let it rip is priceless! They’re not used to seeing what we do, but they sure do like it! Our favorite comments from older folks are…’I haven’t heard music done like this since the 50s!’

In addition to the Holy Rocka Rollaz providing incredible live music, State Street Theater will also be offering a dance floor on stage for those who would like to take part in dancing to the music of The Holy Rocka Rollaz! Those who come dressed in 1950’s attire will have their names entered into a drawing to win a number of fabulous prizes! So bust out your poodle skirts and your leather jackets and join us for an evening of music, dancing, and fun with The Holy Rocka Rollaz!
